Profile

I was a school teacher who taught Japanese in a junior high school. I was going to start something using my experience making Japanese confections, called wagashi, after retiring.
I started to take lessons in Japanese confectionery in earnest at a classroom of Kyoto confectionary lecture club in 2017.
And I was awarded the fighting spirit prize in the seventh wagashi creative exhibition in 2018,and the first prize in the ninth wagashi creative exhibition in 2020.

Perhaps you think that making wagashi is difficult and the only craftsmen make it, don’t you?
I also thought that and I usually just bought it.
When I happened to have a chance to join the class, I was impressed that I could have made such wagashi as a professional made by myself.
I have been pleased more and more and sure I can make wagashi by myself step by step.
I have been interested in the Japanese changeable seasons more than before.

Wagashi can help me to foreget my busy days momentarily and make me make it carefully with thinking who I will give it or how they will be pleased by it.
I have been fascinated with making wagashi because I could have a variety of feeling through those experiences. Now I am in a position to give lessons in making wagashi.
Now you think that making wagashi is difficult. But you will change your mind soon.
You are welcome, if you are a beginner or not, or interested in Japanese culture.
Please feel free to contact.
